Our Community Renewal Story
During the summer of 1983, Johnson Ramsey began building on his vision for the land that now encompasses the community of Southern Trace. Carving out of the naturally gorgeous rolling hills and majestic trees, sits a place where over 500 families, young, old and full of ethnic variety, now call home. Yet, even a place this magnificent, can feel desolate if the neighbors within it are disconnected. And so, our community renewal story begins.
Many answered the call eleven years ago, to coordinate a block party on their street during National Night Out. There began a new spark which sprung forth from the hearts of the neighbors themselves, a life-giving spirit of care and love, which rebuilds, renews, and restores our communities’ foundation one relationship at a time.
Southern Trace Community
Today, our commitment to unite as a people to celebrate life and seasons together has attracted the attention of others locally and across our nation and world. May we never stop growing in our capacity to love our neighbors as ourselves. And may our lives inspire others to seek to make our city and world a home where every child can grow up safe and loved!
